Torchwood: Miracle Day

Seems the best place to put this, here in Comics Land!

Okay, I am in LOVE with the new Torchwood. Beyond a
completely kicking cast and a beauty of an ongoing thematic tale,
this is just truly what 'Event Television' was supposed to be about.
(Definitely more of a mini-series' feel to it.)

And the eeriness of the timely components is rather creepy,
but adds to the impact of the storyline (economic catastrophe
that have been decades in the making, shady evangelicals trying
to run the world, an impending health crisis, inept government
and world-wide conspiracies, the rich acting as puppet masters...)

What's that? Those things have always been around? Oh well,
Bollocks indeed! Nonetheless, presentation and timing are
everything. This show rocks, and I have a word for critics;
"There ain't no such thing as 'Too Gay.'" Kiss it.

Those touching scenes of affection are incredible!

LOOKING GOOD: Michael Golden's MU

Michael Golden has a beautiful and distinctive eye,
and has done a wide array of comics projects through
the years (including personal faves BATMAN and
MICRONAUTS.)

In the early 1980's he did what was first (I believe)
an in-house ad to depict the current Marvel Universe
at the time (as is periodically done by different talents)

Above is his gorgeous contribution! I'm a particular fan
of this era, and his interpretations of the characters
are fierce and filled with flavor and nuance.

He's done more since then, and the art has been made
into posters and calendar covers, but seeing it for the
first time was amazing!
